[edit] History of Sturt Campus

The Sturt Campus of Flinders University along with the school of education was originally established as the Bedford Park Teachers College in the same year that the university was opened, 1966. The Buildings that currently exist at Sturt were unbuilt at this stage and the Teachers College occupied rooms in the Social Sciences buildings. By 1968 the South, North and West wings were completed at the Sturt campus and the site was beginning to resemble it’s current layout. The Sturt campus operated as separate from Flinders University until the Sturt-Flinders merger in 1991.
